ABOUT THIS ROLE: An Auto Mechanic, plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing vehicles for customers in our local community shop. They ensure that cars, trucks and small trucks are safe, reliable, and well-maintained. ASE certification is preferred for this position

 

Responsibilities:

Diagnosing and Repairing Vehicles **: The Auto Mechanic inspects vehicles to identify issues, uses diagnostic tools, and performs
necessary repairs. They address problems related to engines,
transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components.

Routine Maintenance: Mechanics handle routine tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks. They follow
manufacturer guidelines and ensure vehicles are in optimal condition.

Small Truck Repairs: The Auto Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing and repairing small trucks, including light-duty pickups and
vans.

Customer Interaction: Mechanics communicate with customers, explaining repair needs, providing estimates, and answering questions.
Excellent customer service skills are essential.

 

Organization and Record Keeping: The Auto Mechanic maintains an organized work environment, keeps track of warranties, evaluates
service and parts options, and accurately records repairs and
maintenance performed.

Qualifications:

Position Overview:

The Manager of Auto Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, and Tire Shops oversees the efficient operation of multiple automotive service centers. This role involves managing a team of mechanics, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and maintaining customer satisfaction. The manager is responsible for both administrative tasks and technical aspects of the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Supervise and lead a team of auto mechanics, diesel mechanics, and tire technicians.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff members.
  • Schedule work shifts, allocate tasks, and monitor performance.

 

Service Quality and Efficiency:

  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance services meet industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Monitor service quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

Customer Service:

  • Interact with customers, address inquiries, and resolve complaints.

· Works in various positions as needed during shift in addition to Supervisor duties.

· Monitors Team Member productivity and performance. Provides clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to improve performance and achieve operational excellence.

· Follows all company policies and procedures. Helps to maintain a safe working environment throughout the restaurant. Holds Team Members accountable for following policies including those for cash handling and safety and security.

· Assists in orientation and training of new Team Members. Uses company training resources effectively. Recommends Team Member training needs to RGM.

· Serves as a role model by developing positive relationships with Team Members and demonstrating engaging guest service at all times.

· Takes appropriate and immediate action to resolve guest complaints. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction. Works with RGM to continually improve guest service.

· Communicates effectively. Filters information between RGM and Team Members as needed.

Assists RGM in administrative activities such as: managing inventory, ordering product, preparing deposits, HAACP records, and maintaining financial and labor records. Sets the standard for regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

· Responsible for the safety and security of the Team Member’s, facilities, and assets in the absence of the RGM or AGM.

· Knowledge of food service operations. Minimum one year of experience in industry.
